Location. Legend Hotel is located in the Sultanahmet district of central Istanbul, Turkey. It lies 200 metres from the Blue Mosque and 500 metres from the Grand Bazaar.
Hotel Features. A five-storey hotel, Legend is set in a refurbished 19th-century Ottoman town house. The air-conditioned public areas have complimentary wireless Internet. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can offer currency exchange, concierge services, tour assistance and the use of a safe-deposit box. There is also 24-hour room service.

The Cozy Restaurant serves international dishes in a contemporary setting and the Masal Restaurant offers Turkish specialities and has a rooftop terrace setting with views across the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus. A complimentary buffet breakfast is provided.

Guestrooms. The 22 guestrooms have traditionally Turkish furnishings and decor, with bright fabrics; some rooms have balconies with views over the Bosphorus. Distance to Legend hotel is 16 kilometres, approximately 256 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The hotel can arrange airport transfers for a surcharge. Both airport terminals are connected to the metro system, which runs to the city centre. Single tickets cost about 1 TRY. The Havas Airport bus departs every 30 minutes for the main bus terminal and Taksim Square, in central Istanbul. Journey time is about 30 minutes. Bus number 96 runs between the airport and the city centre, and a shuttle bus runs to the port. Taxis wait outside Arrivals; fixed prices are in place and the fare to the city centre should be about 20 TRY-30 TRY. At night, there is a 50 percent surcharge. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Istanbul's extensive public transport system includes buses, metros (underground trains), trains, trams, sea buses, and ferries. Tickets can be purchased from main stops, stations, or kiosks prior to boarding. Istanbul's yellow taxis are reasonably priced, but travellers should ensure the meter is used. A cheaper alternative is to use a 'dolmus' (minibus or shared taxi). Driving is not advised for visitors.
